Brody and Associates to Present Seminars

“Telecommuting: Should You?  Shouldn’t You?  How Do You Make It Happen?”

The webinar will discuss the benefits to working off-site and the pitfalls if compliance with employment laws is not maintained.  Some of the issues we will address include: how do you track time for telecommuting employees?; who pays for which business expense?; who is responsible for providing a safe work environment and complying with OSHA’s safety guidelines? and; is the worker an employee or an independent contractor?

“Exempt v. Non-Exempt: Can You Pass DOL Scrutiny”

This seminar will discuss how to correctly classify employees as exempt or nonexempt, what deductions employers may make from an exempt employee’s salary, what causes the loss of exempt status, and strategies for how to convert the proper classifications without creating a smoking gun of guilt.  This seminar has been very successful and has previously attracted over 250 participants.
