Mid-level Associate Attorney

Brody and Associates, LLC, a boutique Labor, Employment, and Benefits law firm in Westport, Connecticut seeks an attorney with 2 – 4 years of experience in labor law to join our Team.   

Successful candidates will have experience handling labor law matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies, as well as advising management on maintaining a union-free environment, negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements, and preparing for and dealing with strikes and all other matters handled by the NLRB.  

The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with outstanding academic credentials and strong communication and writing skills. Admission to the Connecticut and New York Bars preferred.  Fluency in Spanish is a major plus.

Administrative Positions

SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (FULL-TIME)

Westport, CT – Our busy law firm is looking for an energetic, reliable, organized, fast learner with attention to detail to join our team as a full-time Administrative Assistant.  The hours for this on-site position are 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.  Aspiring law students encourage to apply. 

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing administrative support to Managing Partner and Business Manager;
  • Executing planned marketing strategies and follow through on assigned projects for business development;
  • Answering all inbound calls and acting as the initial primary point of contact; 
  • Managing, updating and maintaining a very busy and fluid schedule via Firm-wide electronic calendar;
  • Responding to emails and correspondence and resolving issues on behalf of the Managing Partner, escalating issues when appropriate;
  • Acting as liaison between clients, prospective clients, vendors and Managing Partner to schedule all meetings; 
  • Prioritizing and resolving calendar conflicts; 
  • Drafting correspondence, composing emails, compiling data and maintaining electronic filing systems;
  • Maintaining our brand identity through enforcement of our standards;
  • Managing multiple priorities;
  • Assisting in the coordination and implementation of special events, meetings and trainings;
  • Preparing meeting materials, creating spreadsheets and preparing presentation materials and handouts;
  • Creating, updating and maintaining a variety of administrative templates to ensure consistency regarding corporate branding, accuracy and operational processes;
  • Maintaining inventory of office supplies;
  • Handling confidential information;
  • Scanning and maintaining documents and files;
  • Coordinating maintenance of office equipment; 
  • Arranging and coordinating travel details for Managing Partner;
  • Completing weekly expense reports;
  • Managing projects and prioritizing workflows and schedules

Candidates with 2 -4 years of legal and/or business office experience will be considered.  Additional qualities include excellent organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail, strong time management and prioritization skills, exceptional written and oral communication skills, in addition to handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment and be able to meet deadlines.  Applicants must be motivated self-starters with the ability to follow instructions and established procedures. 

A strong working knowledge of MS Office and computer applications, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint a must.  Previous legal and/or business office experience, knowledge of Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw, video conferencing, QuickBooks and ACT! a plus.
